The Finnish Lighthouse Society organized a Nordic Lighthouse Conference this time in Mariehamn, Aland.

The conference is organized every third year in some of the Nordic countries. The themes for the conference are various forms of the protection of lighthouses and lighthouse museums in the Nordic Countries.

The conference programme contained, in addition to lectures, visits to fine lighthouses of Aland, e.g. to Märket, which is located at the border islet of Finland and Sweden. There was also interesting programme for evenings and also Nordic non-stop movies and exhibitions on lighthouses.
