Saturday 5th – Monday 7th August
Because of the hard wind and big waves, we had to stay in Eckerö.

Part of our group: Keijo and Mari

We spend the night in a lovely place called “Grandbergs Gästhem”.

There were many beautiful flowers in the yard of Grandbergs Gästhem.

You have to be careful!

We also met a happy group of experienced lighthouse enthusiasts.

On monday we visited the building of Eckerö Post and Custom`s House.

On monday evening we were finally on our way to Märket.

In the night there was a full moon.

Tuesday 8th August
No visitors today – but hard work. Pasi ja Keijo made a big job and moved 2 very big stones in the South harbor.

Yesterday Pasi noticed that there was a hole in the bottom of the rubber boat. He fixed it with glue.

Everyday you can find something beautiful.

Mari – our Masterchef – is cooking and baking. She even brought her own rhubarb to Märket to bake something good to us.

Wednesday 9th August

Pasi and Keijo are taking down the scaffolds.

The job is done and big stones are in the right place.

Tools get rusty because of the seawater. Anne is taking care of the tools with vaseline.

Mari is cleaning the whole kitchen. You have to be almost a mountaineer to do that.

Coffee break – we are going to eat something delicious!
Thursday 10th August

The last pile of firewood on the rock.

And after few hours work.

Pasi is plannig to do something with the “stone scissors”.

Our first group of visitors were from Eckerö.

The youngest visitor was only 8 months and the rest of the group was her relatives. This trip to Märket was their Christmas present.

Thank you for visiting Märket!
Friday 11th August

Our last day in Märket. Sun is shining and the wind is about 3-4 m/s from South.

Keijo – our fisherman. No fish today.

Today our visitors were from near and far – Mike and Alexandra from Floria, USA
and Linda and Henrik from Åland.

Old binoculars are still working.

Tomorrow it`s time to leave Märket. It`s been a lovely week.
We´ll come back for sure!
