Weather was warm and sunny when we arrived to Märket. There are five of us, Bjarne is only first-timer.

Mats left us to east harbour, fortunately there was almost no waves at all.

Bjarne was eager to start working with the fire wood  piles.

Henri climbed up, he´s first mission was to fix the broken antenna.

Sunday 28.5.2017

Sundays weather was all we could wish for; sunny and warm. It was perfect day for some little chores -like chopping wood. So chopping and piling we did.

Our Master Chef Minna prepared us delicious lunch, which we had outside. Almost like a picnic!

In the afternoon Minna and Bjarne took a rubber boat -tour. It is very important that everyone of us knows how to use the rubber boat, that´s why we are having these training moments.

Monday 29.5.2017

Monday was very windy day, wind blew 15 m/s. Waves washed over Märket´s rocks.

Bjarne has become our master of wood chopping. At mornings he is first down at the chopping place and last to leave the work behind in the evenings. On Monday he teached Minna how to use the log splitter.

In the evening the sky looked stunning.

Tuesday 30.5.2017

Tuesday gave us heavy rain and wind, so we stayed mainly inside.

Minna decided that it was time to bake – we made karelian pies, rolls and a cake. Pasi turned out to be a karelian pie master, he rolled the dough like he had done it all his life. Bjarne was our eggbeater. The whisking was so hard, that he wishes there will be an electrical mixer until he comes here again.

Delicious scent filled Märket when all our baked goods came out from the oven. It was nice to celebrate Pasi´s name day with freshly baked pastry.

Wednesday 31.5.2017

We are now in the middle of our Märket week, days are passing by fast. Our days are mostly filled up with fire wood chopping – logs have even entered in to our dreams. There are still quite large piles of logs laying around.
